Three Unhurried Days
Day 1 - The old city
- Morning:the Gothic Quarter walking route, starting at 7:30 while the lanes are empty. Cathedral rooftop, the Roman wall, the Temple of Augustus.
- Afternoon:cross into El Born for Santa Maria del Mar and its roof terraces, then the Picasso Museum.
- Evening:dinner at 21:00 in El Born.
Day 2 - Gaudi
- Morning:Sagrada Familia, booked well ahead. Take a moment in Placa de Gaudi to look up at the new central tower.
- Afternoon:Park Guell - booked ahead, and a steep walk up from Lesseps.
- Evening:La Pedrera's Night Experience, or the Magic Fountain on Montjuic at 21:30.
Day 3 - A day out, or a slow one
Either take the R5 to Montserrat for the morning, checking first whether the choir sings that day - or stay in the city: vermut at noon, a long menu del dia, an afternoon on the beach at Bogatell, and Casa Batllo or the Palau de la Musica before dinner.
A note on pacing: two Gaudi buildings in one day is plenty. Three is a blur.
